Volunteers from The University of Texas at Austin will be working with the Neighborhood Longhorns Program to provide virtual tutoring for 2nd-5th grade students in a variety of subjects. Volunteers will assist Ms. Tonya Brown at Oak Springs Elementary, who coordinates the ACE Tutoring Program at the school. NOTE: All volunteers must complete a background check through Austin Partners in Education (APIE). See Requirement Details for full instructions.

Registration will close 48 hours prior to each tutoring time slot. Hannah Beck will send you a message with the Zoom login information. On the day and time specified, you will connect to Zoom for tutoring support.

If you cannot attend the date you signed up for, please inform the event organizer as soon as possible. Thank you for volunteering!

Requirement Details
All virtual tutors must complete a background check through Austin Partners in Education (APIE) by following the steps noted below. Please allow 7-10 days for processing. 
  • Go to https://austinpartners.secure.force.com/findOpportunities
  • From the School-Based Volunteers drop down menu, select School, Family and Community Education
  • Under Opportunity, select AISD ACE Austin Virtual Volunteers
  • Submit email and demographic info required for the background check
  • Wait to hear from APIE about background check clearance
