Preparing the facility for people experiencing homelessness for Haven of Rest, they provide meals, overnight shelter, clothing, showers, laundry, and other vital services for people experiencing homelessness. These life-changing programs of love and compassion that respond to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of men, women, and children without regard to their race, color, creed or social standing, help people in need of these services.
Do you want to make a positive impact? Join your fellow volunteers in celebrating Make A Difference Day on October 27 by volunteering with Haven of Rest. The tasks needed may include preparing fresh produce if it is available through donation. Other opportunities could be making cards of encouragement to be given at meal time to our guests, There might be yard work that needs to be done, cleaning project for our open house in early November, another possibility would make the beds for the temporary quests.

Please bring Kent State ID (This is needed for FlashPerks and to use the transportation).
Please note that there is a dress code: No shorts, sweatpants, tight-fitting pant including Yoga or tank tops permitted. (Includes sleeveless shirts). Closed-toed shoes (no flip-flops or sandals) must be worn in the Kitchen and Clothing Departments. Males need to tuck in shirts. Pants MUST be worn around the waist. Females must wear modest tops that are also long enough to cover the waist. Skirts must cover the knee. No negative language or symbols on T-shirts. (This includes Rock Groups, Gangs, and references to sex or symbols of alcoholic beverages, drugs or marijuana.)
